The 6th and 7th grade students will have their Spring Concert at the Crystal Coast Civic Center on Thursday May 8 beginning at 6:00 pm. We will need students to arrive in their concert dress at 5:30 pm.

The 8th Grade Student’s concert will begin at 7:15 pm. We will need them to arrive at 6:45 to warm up.

6th Grade students should wear their band t-shirts tucked into khaki pants or a long skirt, dark socks and dress shoes.

7th and 8th grade students should wear “Sunday Dress to Impress.” Boys – dress pants and a polo shirt or a shirt and tie would be appropriate. Ladies – a long summer dress or long skirt and nice top would be ok. Please put a light sweater or something similar over spaghetti strap or strapless dresses.

Our Band sponsored Valentine’s Dance was a success! Thank you so much to our wonderful parent volunteers who always rise to the occasion to help us, whether it’s decorating, selling concessions, or keeping a watchful eye on our students. We really appreciate all you do to support us - we couldn’t do it without you!

Students who are planning on participating on the All-District trip are invited to stay after school until 4:00 pm this Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Voss and I will make the final decision this week as to who is prepared to go. An information letter will go home on Wednesday for students participating. Plan an arriving at MCMS early (before 6:00 am) on Saturday morning. Jazz band is cancelled this week so that we can work with students who are going to All-District. 

We will have our 7th and 8th Grade Holiday Concert Thursday Dec. 13th at 6:00 pm in the MCMS Gym. 7th and 8th Grade students should arrive at 5:15 pm in their white button down shirts, khaki pants, dark socks and dress shoes. 8th Graders will meet in the band room, 7th Graders will meet in the Jazz Band Room. 6th Graders may attend and receive extra credit in class if they turn in a concert program signed by a parent.We will repeat the Concert in an IN-SCHOOL Holiday Concert Friday Dec. 14th. 7th and 8th Grade students should wear their BAND T-SHIRTS. Khaki pants and dress shoes are NOT required. All that we ask is that students wear the t-shirts so we look alike.

Coming up after we return is our Holiday Concert - Dec. 13th at 7:00 pm. Also, Spring Trip permission forms are due Tusday Nov. 27th for 8th and eligible 7th graders.

Mark your calendars!! Thursday Nov. 8th we are having our Band-A-Thon. Our students will be performing after school from 3:15 - 5:45. We will have each grade level play individually, and then end with a mass band performance of ALL 3 GRADE LEVELS! Following the performances we will have a post Band-A-Thon party including a BBQ Dinner prepared by Chick Lindner and Friends, and a Dodgeball Tournament for students who are eligible. Please refer to the Band-A-Thon information that was sent home last week to see eligibility requirements.
